He is a retired Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Government Maharaja's Technological Institute, Thrissur, an educator and a construction-materials researcher. His postgraduate and doctoral work at CUSAT includes geopolymer concrete and sustainable construction materials; he completed his PhD in 2025.
