Existing Structures: Assessment & Verification

Assessment begins with the actual structure: its geometry, condition, alterations, loading history and available records. Calculation follows evidence, and conclusions remain bounded by what the investigation can support.

01 · Technical scope

Typical Reasons for Assessment

  • Visible cracks, deflection, corrosion or deterioration
  • Proposed alteration, extension or change of use
  • Additional equipment or imposed loading
  • Purchase, lease or technical due diligence
  • Damage following an event or construction activity
  • Lack of reliable drawings or calculation records
  • Requirement for structural stability documentation
  • Concern about continued use or serviceability
02 · Technical scope

Typical Scope

1. Review available drawings, records and proposed loading.

2. Conduct a visual structural inspection within the agreed access limits.

3. Record relevant geometry, distress and apparent load paths.

4. Identify missing information and recommend testing where necessary.

5. Carry out focused or global analysis proportionate to the question.

6. Compare demand, capacity, serviceability and observed behaviour.

7. Issue a report, recommendations and certification only where justified.

Structural Stability Certificates in India

STRUCTOLYX® prepares and issues structural stability certificates in India only when the scope, site access, information quality, engineering evidence, applicable regulations and professional authorization allow a responsible conclusion.

A certificate is not a substitute for investigation. If critical information is unavailable, further opening-up, testing, monitoring, analysis or remedial work may be required before certification can be considered.

04 · Technical scope

Deliverables

  • Structural assessment report
  • Photographic and distress record
  • Assumptions and information-gap register
  • Analysis and adequacy checks where required
  • Repair, monitoring or further-investigation recommendations
  • Structural stability certificate where applicable and justified
A certificate is the conclusion of an assessment, never a substitute for one.
